The Chern-Simons classical field theories: some open problems (Israël Michaël Sigal, University of Toronto)

10.05.2016 15:30

The Chern-Simons classical field theories arise in condensed matter and particle physics. They describe the evolution of the Chern-Simons gauge field coupled to a matter field. They have also a natural geometrical interpretation. In this lecture I introduce the Chern-Simons classical field theories, describe their properties, present some results and formulate some open problems.
