Cosmology with photometric redshift surveys: challenges and opportunities

The ongoing and upcoming photometric galaxy surveys are a central piece in our strategy to improve our understanding of cosmology. In particular, the combination of galaxy clustering and weak gravitational lensing is a powerful tool to simultaneously constrain the geometry of the Universe, as well as the growth of large-scale structures within it. In this talk I will first review the main stages in the analysis of photometric large-scale structure data, with a particular emphasis on the problems of data compression and covariance estimation. I will also present the first results from the analysis of photometric galaxy clustering data from the Hyper Suprime-Cam survey carried out within the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration.
