GeoHealth - unlocking geospatial data to strengthen health systems in Africa
05.06.2023 11:45 – 13:45
Join us for a presentation of some of the recent work of the GeoHealth group at IGH, and discover how geospatial data can strengthen health systems in Africa. A series of five short talks will discuss 1) maternal mortality and the rise of new global and national indicators, 2) why health facility typology is a misleading proxy of health service availability, using data from WHO/HeRAMS (Health Resources and Services Availability Monitoring System), 3) what is Diagnostic Network Optimisation (DNO) and how we are leveraging a collaboration with FIND to optimise national diagnostic systems, 4) how can the deployment of Community Health Workers be optimised through accessibility modeling, and finally 5) what are the current challenges with geospatial data and population data sets, and what is being done to ease their access and use.
