CREAN Conference “Children’s rights and the aims of education”

CREAN Conference “Children’s rights and the aims of education”

03.07.2015

This is the final conference of the Children´s Rights Erasmus Academic Network (CREAN), a project financed by the European Union in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme under the DG Education and Culture. The CREAN is a network of universities, from 29 countries, offering higher education in children's rights with the major aim to include further enhancement of the academic field of children's rights studies as an interdisciplinary field of studies. The network is based upon a common belief that childhood is a social, historically changeable phenomenon and that children are social subjects who are to be respected as such, with own views, interests, competences and the right to comprehensive participation.
Within this framework, the final CREAN Conference aims to carry on the dialogue on children’s rights between higher education institutions and governmental and nongovernmental organizations. The conference theme, children’s rights and the aims of education, allows bringing together perspectives from academia and professional partners both on children’s rights education as well as on academic teaching and learning.
