What is Physics? A personal account

Is physics only about approximations or do we, the physicists, truly go to the core of the real stuff? My opinion evolved during my carreer, but the question always remained close to my heart.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter that much: Physics is everything that is either intellectually fascinating, or that is potentially usefull.
