Brainstorming Meeting on Water and Peace: Protecting Water Before, During and After an Armed Conflict

10.11.2018 10:00 – 12:00

The Interest Group on Water of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association will held its first meeting at the University of Geneva (Uni-Vogt building) on the 10th of November 2018.

The Interest Group on Water seeks to enhance the multidisciplinary knowledge, research, and practice on the use of water as an incentive for peace. Members will discuss and examine the different scales of cooperation on shared water resources ranging from the global and regional to the basin and local levels. The strengths and weaknesses of different models of water management and protection will be considered with a view toward preventing and resolving water disputes, and to helping countries manage water to recover after conflict.
