05.11.2019 14:00 – 18:00
Virtual Reality as a tool for the Affective Sciences
Virtual Reality (VR) has become an important component of the toolbox available to psychologists and cognitive neuroscientists to study cognition, emotion and behaviour, with practical applications in the clinical domain. This graduate seminar will focus on how VR can be used for the affective sciences, with an emphasis on methods. During the first hour of the event, Prof. David Rudrauf, Dr. Ben Meuleman and Dr. Yvain Tisserand will introduce fundamentals in VR and the affective sciences. The rest of the event will be dedicated to a workshop on the topic. We will first propose demos for participants to experience the tool. Then participants will be divided into working groups with the aim of designing possible experiments in VR for the study of affective science, under the supervision of the three presenters. Finally, each group will present their proposal, which will be discussed collectively.
This session is open to any interested participant, but priority will be given to the members of the doctoral school.
