Quantum Topology and Hyperbolic Geometry (Rinat Kashaev, Université de Genève)
31.03.2022 13:30 – 15:30
Quantum Topology is a branch of mathematics which came into existence in 1980's with the discovery of the Jones polynomial and the theory of quantum groups. I will review few aspects of quantum topology that concern constructions of knot invariants from Hopf algebras, quantum Teichmüller theory and the relation of quantum invariants to hyperbolic geometry through the volume conjecture.
