Journeys in Researching Otherwise
14.11.2024 12:30 – 14:00
Traditional boundaries within landscape, urban studies, and the social sciences have often hindered interdisciplinary dialogue, sensory engagement, and imagination. Building upon the recently published book Researching Otherwise: Pluriversal methods in landscape and urban research (gta Verlag, 2024), this lecture will explore the potential of sensory, collaborative, and restorative methodologies to create spaces for generating knowledge from diverse perspectives. These methodologies aim to bridge the gap between researchers and their subjects, fostering opportunities for transformative and regenerative futures. Drawing from the lecturer's own research journeys, the lecture will demonstrate how innovative methods can facilitate collaborative ethnographic research with marginalized subjects, communities, and multi-species environments.
