Smart Healthcare and Health System Innovation
20.05.2026 14:00 – 18:30
Health systems worldwide are facing profound structural challenges, including population ageing, the rising burden of chronic diseases, workforce shortages, escalating healthcare costs, and persistent health inequities.
At the same time, rapid advances in artificial intelligence, big data, robotics, and digital innovation are transforming healthcare delivery, health system governance, and public health practice.
There is growing international consensus that the core value of artificial intelligence in healthcare and public health lies not in technology itself, but in its ability to enable people-centred and integrated care pathways within health networks. By connecting hospitals, primary care, community-based services, and home-based care, digital and AI-enabled solutions can:
Improve continuity of care
Enhance patient and population health experiences
Reduce fragmentation
Achieve better outcomes with lower overall system costs
However, these opportunities also raise critical questions related to governance, ethics, data protection, interoperability, and lifecycle management of AI technologies, all of which are central to current global health policy debates.
This event aims to:
experiences from China, Europe, and other regions on the application of AI and digital technologies in healthcare and public health
Promote future cooperation between academic institutions, health authorities, and international organizations
