Testing gravity with large-scale structure with J-PAS
26.03.2018 11:00 – 12:00
In the very near future, astrophysical surveys will discriminate galaxies of different types, quasars, Ly-alpha systems, etc., and will allow us to characterize with high accuracy the properties of the halos where most of the matter of the Universe is located. The large-scale structure of the halo distribution can tell us not only about baryon acoustic oscillations and dark energy, but it also has clues about the strength of the gravitational forces on cosmological scales, and across cosmic time. I will describe how discriminating the halos, and determining how they trace large-scale structure in different ways depending on their properties, will allow us to measure with better accuracy the strength of the gravitational force and primordial non-Gaussianity. I will also describe how the J-PAS, a large-area, deep, narrow-band filter astrophysical survey, will provide the ideal dataset to explore the information in large-scale structure further than has been possible until now.
