Source modeling for gravitational-wave data analysis
29.11.2019 11:30 – 12:30
Accurate and computationally efficient gravitational-wave (GW) templates are essential tools for GW detection and parameter estimation of compact binary sources. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the current state of waveform modeling for GW data analysis, and report on recent efforts that aim to broaden the parameter space for searches and eliminate systematic biases in GW source parameter estimation. State-of-the-art source modeling can shed light on the formation and evolution of astrophysical black holes, and has the potential to offer valuable insights into fundamental physics.
