Density Matrices in quantum gravity
22.10.2020 14:00 – 15:30
In this talk I will try and review the topic of "universe field theory," also known as third quantization. For clarity, I will review the Klein-Gordon quantum field theory and make connections where appropriate. As we will come to see, the Hilbert space in universe field theory is constructed in complete analogy with the GNS construction in algebraic quantum field theory. With the necessary terminology in place, I will discuss certain objects called "bra-ket wormholes" and how they evade bags of gold paradoxes in quantum gravity. The inclusion of these bra-ket wormholes depends on the choice of state, and I will try and emphasize that they are not present in all quantum gravity calculations.
