Interval translation mappings and their discrete and continuous adventures (Alexandra Skripchenko, HSE Moscow)

07.12.2021 10:30

Interval translation mappings (ITM) were introduced in 1994 by M. Boshernitzan and I. Kornfeld as a natural generalization of interval exchange transformations. In my talk I will outline some known results on their ergodic and combinatorial properties (with the main focus on the simplest class of ITM’s - double rotations) and show you many challenging open problems.
