Canonical Purification of Evaporating Blackholes
17.03.2022 15:00 – 16:00
I’ll construct the canonical purification of evaporating AdS black holes. The resulting geometry contains a short spatial wormhole, and provides (1) a general realization of ER=EPR after the Page time, and (2) a conventional AdS/CFT description of the entropy of the radiation, with no modifications as in the island formula. The canonical purification of a young black hole, by contrast, consists of two disconnected spacetimes irrespective of the amount of entanglement between the two boundaries. This result calls into question certain conjectures relating entanglement to spacetime connectivity.
