How non-linear is the Universe?

09.12.2022 14:15 – 15:15

To this day, cosmological N-body simulations of structure formation use
Newtonian gravity, which may appear surprising to theoretical
physicists. In my talk I will describe how we built the first
relativistic N-body code, and how we are using it to look at non-linear
effects in the Universe. I will in particular highlight the question
whether the averaged evolution of the cosmological space-time is
impacted by non-linearities, and what can happen when dark energy
clustering becomes non-linear.
