Rauzy graphs of dynamical systems and their Benjamini - Schramm limits (Alexandra Skripchenko, HSE / UNIGE)

29.11.2022 10:30

Many popular dynamical systems admit rather simple description in terms of combinatorics of words. These words can in turn be Illustrated by so called «Rauzy graphs» that often contain important information such ergodic properties of the system as the number and the type of ergodic measures (the most famous results in these direction were obtained by M. Boshernitzan for the subshifts of sublinear complexity).
We study possible shapes of the limits of Rauzy graphs for a few classical systems (like billiards in rational polygons, interval exchange transformations and their generalizations, simple Toeplitz shifts and some others) and use our results to understand the nature of the ergodic measures of these systems.
It is a joint work in progress with T. Nagnibeda and P.-H. Leemann, based on earlier works of Leemann and of Drummond.
