International conference on Artificial Intelligence and Philanthropy

14.03.2024 18:00 – 19:30

This conference aims to increase awareness on the
role of Philanthropy in promoting an ethical and
inclusive engagement with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Prof. Luciano Floridi will deliver the keynote speech
followed by a round of questions from the public. The
conference is a key milestone of the larger project
Artificial Intelligence and Philanthropy developed by the research team at the Chair in Behavioral Philanthropy and Finance (created on the initiative and with the support of the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations) and the Geneva Centre for Philanthropy (GCP) of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), supported by the Fondation Botnar and another strategic partner of the GCP.

During this event, the Fondation Lombard Odier Prize
for Academic Excellence in Philanthropy will be awarded to the two best academic papers of the Routledge Handbook on Artificial Intelligence and Philanthropy.

Luciano Floridi is the Founding Director of the Digital Ethics Center and Professor in the Cognitive Science Programme at Yale University. He is world-renowned as one of the most authoritative voices of contemporary philosophy, the founder of the philosophy of information, and one of the major interpreters of the digital revolution. His more than 300 works about the philosophy of information, digital ethics, the ethics of AI, and the philosophy of technology have been translated into many languages. In 2022 he was made Knight of the Grand Cross OMRI for his foundational work in philosophy.
