Revisiting the bootstrap origins of string theory

09.10.2024 12:00 – 13:00

I will discuss a new approach to bootstrap string-like theories based on a novel, local, parametric and, importantly, crossing-symmetric basis for such amplitudes. We find that minimizing the first finite moment of the entangling power picks up the supersymmetric open and closed string amplitudes for gluons and gravitons on fixing two low-energy Wilson coefficients. The space of amplitudes allows for more interesting S-matrices, which exhibit a Regge-power law crossover and do not obey world-sheet duality. I will also discuss how machine-learning techniques can help solve this problem and how they are advantageous over the present linear programming approach.
