Confluence of parabolic singularities in the E6 Higgs bundle moduli space (Szilard SZABO, HUN-REN Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics)

In an ongoing joint work with Miklos Eper, we study the degenerations of a rank 3 logarithmic Higgs bundle moduli space and the associated character variety, as the punctures collide and form irregular singularities with various irregular types. We describe the fibers at infinity of the elliptic Hitchin fibration, and present the wild character varieties as affine cubic surfaces. We use Fourier--Laplace transformation to relate the irregular connections to the Painleve moduli spaces.
