Séminaire informel DQMP - Interfacial charge transfer and electronic transport in iridate heterostructures
25.09.2025 13:00 – 14:00
Bringing together strong electron correlation of 3d transition metal oxides (TMOs) and spin-orbit coupling of the 4d or 5d TMOs may result in the emergence of new quantum states [x]. Therefore, complex oxide heterostructures consisting of SrIrO3 and LaMO3 (M = Mn, Co, Fe, Ni) are providing perfect playground to analyze electronic transport with respect to topological band properties.
In my talk I will present our latest experimental results with respect to iridate heterostructures which document the importance of interfacial charge transfer for the observation of strong anomalous Hall and topological-like Hall transport in SrIrO3.
We demonstrate the preparation of high-quality oxide heterostructures by pulsed laser deposition and electronic transport at ambient and under hydrostatic pressure. X-ray absorption- and photoemission spectroscopy as well as spatially resolved electron energy loss spectroscopy was used to analyze electronic properties of the heterostructures.
