Metric-functional boundaries of small groups (Ariel Yadin, Ben-Gurion University)

12.05.2026 10:30

In this talk we will discuss metric-functional boundaries of Cayley graphs.
I will present three conjectures, with a resolution of one of them.
Namely, I will prove that the finiteness of the metric-functional boundary of some Cayley graph is equivalent to the group being virtually cyclic.
Along the way I will introduce the notions, and explain some of the motivation of studying these objects. This includes obtaining algebraic information about the group from the geometric information provided by the Cayley graph, in order to better understand the possible groups with "small" geometries.
