Speculative functor theory and fr-language

24.09.2026 13:00 – 14:00

A lot of known functors like group homology, derived functors of non-additive functors, cyclic homology, and dimension quotients can be described in a unified way with the help of (derived) limits in the categories of groups, Lie rings or associative algebras. The talk will be about this unified approach. As an example we will look at so-called fr-language, a linguistic game which gives a way to define a lot of known functors in the category of groups.
