UNIGE Open and Reproducible Science Day for Early-Career Researchers

UNIGE Open and Reproducible Science Day for Early-Career Researchers

16.11.2026 09:30 – 17:00

On Monday, November 16th, 2026, the University of Geneva hosts the Open and Reproducible Science Day for Early-Career Researchers, a full-day event (9:30–17:00) at the Reverdin auditorium of CMU (Building B, 2nd floor), with a hybrid option for those who can't attend in person. Organised by the SwissRN Local Node together with the ReproducibiliTea Journal Club and the SwissRN Academy, the day brings PhD students and postdocs together to explore how to make their research more open, transparent and reproducible.

The programme opens with a keynote lecture by Sofia Fernandes, followed by presentations from UNIGE services and data stewards on the support available to researchers. In the afternoon, participants can roll up their sleeves in a hands-on "Bring Your Data & Make It FAIR" workshop, where they'll draft a README for their own dataset and practise publishing data on the Yareta testing environment. A dynamic poster session invites attendees to share their best open science tips and posters, with prizes awarded by both a jury and the audience. The day closes with blitz talks by early-career researchers and a roundtable, "Voices from the Labs," where ECRs from across UNIGE faculties discuss their needs, challenges and solutions for open and reproducible science.

Networking breaks throughout the day offer plenty of opportunities to connect with peers and continue the conversation. Note that posters and blitz talks can only be presented in person.
