Many-subdomain analysis of optimized Schwarz methods for discontinuous Galerkin discretizations (Soheil Hajian, Humboldt University, Berlin)

29.05.2018 14:00 – 15:00

Schwarz methods are attractive parallel solution techniques for solving
large-scale linear systems obtained from discretizations of partial
differential equations (PDEs). Due to the iterative nature of Schwarz
methods, convergence rates are an important criterion to quantify their
performance. In this talk we present new results on convergence of OSM
for discontinuous Galerkin (DG) discretizations of elliptic PDEs. To
state it precisely, we extend previous results on convergence to
many-subdomain cases and also investigate the effect of zero-order terms
of the PDE on convergence of the OSM.
