The tolerable inhomogeneities during BBN
16.04.2025 11:30 – 12:30
In this talk I explain the implications of precision measurement of light abundances in concordance with the Cosmic Microwave Background for different scenarios of BSM physics. In particular, I will show that they impose strong constraints on any mechanism that generates inhomogeneities in baryons at temperatures of the order of or below a TeV. This readily rules out some of the proposed mechanisms of baryogenesis in the literature. I briefly discuss the implications for the electroweak baryogenesis, the GW signal from the electroweak phase transition, as well as the PTA-measured GW signal, and how they are probed by precision big bang nucleosynthesis. I also discuss the future prospects of improvements in this probe.
