Domain decomposition method for Navier-Stokes adjoint equations on anisotropic mesh (Thomas Gauchery, Inria Saclay)

14.10.2025 14:00 – 15:00

This presentation focuses on a methodology for solving the adjoint Navier–Stokes equations in the framework of metric-based anisotropic mesh adaptation, where scalability and robustness are critical requirements. We propose a domain decomposition approach enhanced with a subdomain coloring algorithm, coupled with Symmetric Gauss–Seidel iterations employed as a local smoother within a preconditioned GMRES solver. Particular attention will be given to the scalability of the method on large-scale meshes and to its convergence behavior.
